About Us
Actors Creating Their Own Opportunities
I’m a S/asher! (Actor / Producer / Writer) and you? What type of S/asher Are you?
My main purpose is to build communities and relationships but especially, to empower one another regardless of your nationality or background. Your disability is your ability, and I look forward to meeting you and hopefully to working together.
Join me in my goal to change the narrative and to connect and provide multiple opportunities for fellow local and international actors, producers, writers, directors and others in the entertainment industry including those from underrepresented communities. I’m all about inclusion, diversity and advancing as a whole, together and I’m excited to write our own stories that better represent us.
Founded in 2017, I created Actors Slash believing in equality, inclusion & diversity, connecting and bringing together actors and filmmakers who produce their own content.
The idea of Actors Slash started way back, when I was traveling all over the USA while promoting this amazing country, “The USA”. Part of my job as an on-camera host was also to write my own segments and travel journals for the travel channel online for the US travel bureau “Visit the USA” (Formerly Discover America).
Driving, flying, cruising among other actors/presenters from different parts of the world, discovering the hidden treasures the US has to offer, us, the hosts, would also often assist with the production and/or camera person. We would perform and model for other hosts’ videos and our own. During our free time sometimes, we even came up with filming short films or videos just for fun. That is when I realized that we were multi S/ash; We were “Actors S/ash” …, Actors Creating Opportunities.
And I was there and now I’m here “Connecting S/ashers”. Now also a community to help others go through the opportunities and the lack of information I did not have when I first moved to Los Angeles,
Through Actors Slash I have produced and hosted +70 events including panels, screenings, contests, mixers, table reads… Inviting local to International actors and filmmakers to showcase their work in both Film & Theater Festivals as well as at the CCCM (Mexican Center of Cultural & Cinematic Arts) located in the Mexican Consulate of Mexico in Los Angeles who has been a huge supported to Culture, Art & Entertainment including Actors Slash programs. This has helped fellow creators showcase their work and has introduced them with other fellow creative minds that have resulted in collaboration among each other.
“I’M A S/ASHER” (actor / producer / writer), and you? What type of S/asher are you?
I’m also a MEXICAN / VO Talent / on-camera host. I felt the need to change the narrative to fit in projects that really portray me. My background is Spanish / Portuguese, so I fall into ambiguous roles. And I’m fluent in Spanish, English & French plus conversational Italian.
I started in my teen years in TV commercials for national Mexican television and delivered a series of 30 second monologues.
Those commercials coined my famous phrase “No Inventes” (No way!) and characterized me as the classic Preppy/Valley Girl (“Fresa”), which gave me critical acclaim and introduced me to Film, Television and Voice Over.
This also opened doors and booked lead roles including the TV series “Hora Marcada” – Episode: “No Retornable” with both Academy Award winners Director Alfonso Cuarón and Cinematographer Emmanuel Lubezki.
I had filmed a few short projects for family and friends, but my first “professional short film “The Embrace of a Bird” , written, produced, co-directed and performed by yours truly, is now in the festival circuit around the world.
I have performed in several TV and radio spots, TV series, films and plays (some of them produced by me), as well as I have also dubbed films and television for both Mexico and the US.
Currently, I’m happily married doing what I like the most.
